Una speranza escatologica per tutti gli amanti degli animali October 9, 2005 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
This book deserves 10 stars! September 19, 2005 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
If you love animals, believe the bible, or are interested in what the bible says about the subject of animals and their eternal destiny, you must read this book. Niki Shanahan has obviously swept through the bible with a fine tooth comb, finding scripture verses on animals that most of us wouldn't even notice. She presents certain key words (such as soul) in their proper, literal translation from the Hebrew and Greek, thus dispelling the erroneous notion held by some that animals do not have souls. The result of this diligent research and labor of love is biblical proof that animals not only have souls, but have a place in God's eternal kingdom. Those of you who take the Bible seriously will be greatly encouraged and comforted. The scholarship and heart with which this book was written has been an inspiration to me and my heart rests much easier now. Thank you, Niki!

I purchased this book to help with the loss of my beloved cat. My Mother borrowed it to read and compare the Bible scripture it quotes regarding the afterlife for animals. She found it all in the Bible. It gave her such great peace and joy to know where in the Bible the passages are to prove what she knew in her heart, God does not forsake any of his precious creatures. They have the breath of life, a soul and are as precious to him as we are. My Mother purchaed six more copies to give to friends and family who have beloved pets. This book is a comfort and a wonderful compendium of Bible scripture for The Eternal Life of Animals.
A Blessing for Those who Love Animals July 25, 2005 20 out of 24 found this review helpful
We recently lost our beloved dog, and I have been having a very hard time dealing with the loss of her physical presence. Although I am a believer, I had always heard other Christians saying that animals do not have souls and therefore, would not be admitted to Heaven, even though I never believed that. This book is thoroughly researched and presents in a very clear and methodical manner the Scriptures that tell us that God indeed, does grant eternal life to animals, and that they do have souls. I found this book to be of great comfort to me, as I can't imagine an afterlife without my beloved pets that have left this earth before me. Thank you, Niki Shanahan and thank you, Pete, whose loving memory inspired your Mom to write this book. And thank you, God, for creating such wonderful and loving creatures who can teach us all so much if we dare to listen. P. Decker
helpful, hopeful, uplifting... July 3, 2005 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
Most humans love their pets and think of them as family. We suffer grief and loss when a pet dies, much the same as when a human dies. The author understands such grief. With this book based solidly on Bible scriptures, she offers hope and reassurance to pet lovers everywhere.
Do animals go to heaven when they die? Those who believe the Bible will know for certain that they do, once they've read this book. God ordered humans to be stewards of all creation, including animals. Our lives would lack joy and happiness without them. And yet, animals share man's fate. They suffer and eventually die no matter how much we love them. Step by step, through well researched and referenced scriptures, Ms. Shanahan proves that animals have soul, spirit, and are valued by God the same as humans. And she does not simply quote Bible verses to make her point. She compares the meanings of words in the original Hebrew and Greek texts for added emphasis. I found this technique particularly helpful.
The Disciple John says in Revelation 5:13, after experiencing a vision of Heaven, "And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, blessing, and honor, and glory, and power be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the lamb forever and ever." John heard every creature, man and beast, praising God and Jesus in heaven. And this is just one of many such scriptures proving our animal companions share the human cycle of life, death, and resurrection.
There is Eternal Life for Animals is a helpful, hopeful, uplifting book. I recommend it to everyone who loves animals and wonders what happens when a pet dies.
